During the festival, Jenny Svenberg Bunnel will draw the music and the musicians live. You in the audience will be able to follow the emergence of Jenny Svenberg Bunnel's drawings in real time by projecting behind the musicians and in the room.
The artist Jenny Svenberg Bunnel has for more than ten years documented the Swedish and international jazz scene by drawing it live. Hundreds of musicians are gathered in her drawing pad. The drawings have become books and exhibitions, including at Fasching 2018. Pandemic spring 2021, while the concert halls were closed, her portrait series Silence was shown in Kungsträdgården, which was based on conversations with about 20 jazz musicians about why people need art and music. The exhibition received a lot of attention on radio and television.
"What Svenberg Bunnel has done and is doing for Jazz Sweden is absolutely invaluable - like the photographer William P. Gottlieb, she has artistically documented an entire jazz era", wrote Johan Jacobsson Franzén in an essay on jazz drawing in the magazine Tecknaren, no. 1/2022.
