IMPRA at Sthlm Jazz!

IMPRA arranges in collaboration with Stockholm Jazz Festival, More jazz in Sweden and Royal. The Academy of Music a course in gender and equality for educators during the festival days in July: Balance in music teaching. If you attend all four seminars, you get 1.5 university credits with a degree certificate! The seminar will include the "ABC of equality", gender in ensemble methodology (Gunilla Hedin, now Gunilla Törnfeldt, talks about her thesis and leads a discussion on the subject), Musician's studio with great musicians from the festival and much more. The seminars will be held in Moderna Muséet's premises in connection with Stockholm Jazz, but you apply for the course via Kungl. The Academy of Music. More information to follow! The course is free!

Manifesto for jazz

On September 7, 2008, IMPRA is part of the national network Swedish Jazz, which during the autumn launches the campaign "Let jazz inside the fence" with a manifesto which, among other things, demands
  • A main stage and regional centers for Swedish jazz
  • A solid investment in jazz organisers
  • Development support for jazz musicians

IMPRA starts its own in Denmark!

IMPRA now also exists in Denmark as an independent sister association! It will be celebrated with a birthday party for IMPRA DK at Jazzhouse in Copenhagen on November 24.

At the annual meeting, IMPRA's new board was elected:
Lina Nyberg, chairman
Erika Alexandersson, vice-chairman
Karin Inde, treasurer
Anna Lundqvist, secretary, and representative IMPRA-west
Linnea Henriksson, representative IMPRA-syd
Petra Ahlmark, representative IMPRA-east
Outgoing chairman Gunilla Hedin was thanked with a large flower bouquet and applause!

Perfect Harmony on tour in April!

Now it is time for IMPRA and SJR's project Perfect Harmony to set out in Sweden again. This time Jeanette Lindström follows with a new band, Cecilia Wennerström/Ann Blom Duo and Karin Inde with. And in addition to the musicians, there is a unique photo exhibition of female musicians throughout the ages in the tour bus!
Well received in Bollnäs (21/4), Piteå (22/4), Haparanda (23/4) and Norrköping (24/4 – at the same time as the National Jazz Day!).

In addition, plans are already being made for an autumn trip.
Booked bands are Maggi Olins and Ingrid Jensen's Nordic Connect and Midaircondo!

IMPRA at the Swedish Jazz Celebration

The association IMPRA at the Swedish Jazz Celebration in Gothenburg

From March 23-28, the festival Swedish Jazz Celebration takes place in Gothenburg. Concerts, seminars and award ceremonies replace each other.

IMPRA (www.impra.se), the network/association for female improvisational musicians, is collaborating with the festival this year and has its own SHOWROOM with musical elements on Thursday 3/26. In addition to the presentation of members, the association and the association's purpose, we will hear music by singer Sarah Riedel and saxophonist Frida Thurfjell with her band SWOTE.

On Friday 27/3, IMPRA is relevant again in a collaboration with Musik i väst and Swedish jazz Celebration. It will be a luxurious seminar with concerts and lectures at Hvildfedlska gymnasium in Gothenburg. All girls, who sing/play instruments at music school or high school, in the Västra Götaland region are invited to take part in this event for free! Participating musicians during the day are: Elise Einarssdotter, Lisen Rylander, Martina Almgren and Nina de Heney and others. The seminar ends with mingling and concerts in the evening.

This year in Gothenburg!!
IMPRA VÄST collaborates with Musik i Väst during the festival-
On March 26, IMPRA will have its own item on the program, where the association will be presented, among other things. In the evening, i.a. play Elise Einarsdotter Ensemble and Martina Almgren Oh Yeah Orch.,
27 March 11.00-16.30 A free day of inspiration aimed specifically at girls aged 15 to 20 who play an instrument or sing, at
Hvitfeldska high school. Here, participants can talk to, ask questions of and listen to some of the musicians at the Swedish Jazz Celebration.
In the evening, Paavo and Anna Christoffersson play at Konserthuset and Josef and Erika, Third Stream and Josefine Lindstrand play at Nefertiti and Rigmor Gustafsson at Trädgårn.
